Ho ho ho, glad tidings to all men etc etc,
This is one busy week for many a manager. Finishing up work, buying last minute Xmas presents, wrapping last minute Xmas presents, finding excuses for several 'Xmas do's'. One thing that can be challenging is finding the time to manage your fantasy team, which isn't great given the fixtures now come thick and fast. Christmas is literally the only time of the year i don't envy Premier League footballers.
Here's the Gaffers Xmas gift to reduce that job list somewhat, i've picked an Xmas 11 that could shine over the next two gameweeks, hopefully many of which will be found on your waiver wire:
GK - Guaita (Palace)
GK - Guaita (Palace) - In top form and playing two of the division's weaker teams in Newcastle and West Ham this week. Surely good for one clean sheet, if not two, and always a save point magnet in leagues that cater for it.
Defs - Kelly (Palace), Guilbert (Villa), Shaw (Man United)
Defs - Kelly (Palace), Guilbert (Villa), Shaw (Man United) - A trio of flying full backs for your Xmas defence. Luke Shaw seems to be fit(ish) and is worth a go before he gets too tucked into the mince pies. Kelly is nailed on given all other Palace defenders are walking wounded at best, and Guilbert stars in a Villa team with two home games against lowly opposition this week.
Mids - Grealish and Mcginn (Villa), Buendia (Norwich), Siggurdsson (Everton)
Mids - Grealish and Mcginn (Villa), Buendia (Norwich), Siggurdsson (Everton) - Again banging the Villa drum they have Southampton and Norwich at home this week, what could possibly go wrong? Their attacking points seem to mainly be shared amongst the marauding trio of Grealish, Mcginn and El Ghazi, so why not go after the lot? Buendia is a long term love of mine and looks refreshed and fiery after a short break. Siggy has flattered to deceive this season, but with Ancelotti (maybe!) coming in hopefully he's rejuvenated.
Forwards - El Ghazi (Villa), Mousset (Sheff Utd), Calvert-Lewin (Everton)
Forwards - El Ghazi (Villa), Mousset (Sheff Utd), Calvert-Lewin (Everton) - this is not an attacking trio i thought i'd be recommending at the start of the season! El Ghazi i've talked about. Mousset appears to be the main man now for the Blades, and is very talented. Calvert-Lewin i really don't rate too highly, but he seems to have Big Dunc's eye so he's worth a punt in two great attacking fixtures at home to Arsenal and Burnley.
Hopefully there's one or two in that 11 that can benefit your team over the coming week. Go get 'em Tiger!
