Last Week (GW7)
Lawro played out his second draw in GW7 against league rival Marc. At least this time it was a high scoring draw with both teams scoring 9 points including two perfect scores. The two players go head to head for real this week in their RFF league hoping to go one better.
This Week
Lawro hopes to continue this high scoring form this week as ha takes on another league rival and co-founder of RFF. ‘Steve’ will be hoping to perform better at this than he has so far demonstrated in his fantasy football season, sitting in the bottom half of the league with just 2 wins.
Disclaimer: Lawro is in no way a gifted football predictor or claim to have superior knowledge, he just happens to share his name with a certain television pundit.

Man City vs Tottenham 12:45
Even with having a large number of players spread about the world during the last two weeks, city will steamroll Spurs
Steve’s Prediction: 3-0
Biggest game of the weekend in the early kick off and Spurs will be hoping to better their 11-1 aggregate score vs. the Champions last season. City to win easy for me
Lawro’s Prediction: 3-1
Arsenal vs Hull 15:00
Some of the Arsenal under 15s must be looking at the Injury list thinking ‘it can’t be long now before I get a call’, even with their massive injury list I think that they will be able to inflict some damage on Hull. Hull have only 1 win in six and a win against Crystal Palace is only really papering over the cracks for Steve Bruce
Steve’s Prediction: 2-0
Arsenal have been decimated by injuries of late with a potential full XI in the treatment room. I fancy the Tigers to take a point from the Emirates
Lawro’s Prediction: 1-1
Burnley vs West Ham 15:00
It was Big Sam’s 60th Birthday during the week and I’m predicting that he’ll be drinking a celebratory pint of gravy after the match.
Steve’s Prediction: 0-1
The Clarets are still without a win this season but at least they managed to register on the score sheet last time out and they could be welcoming back last season’s top scorer from injury. Hard fought draw on the cards
Lawro’s Prediction: 1-1
Crystal Palace vs Chelsea 15:00
Chelsea will just be far too strong for Palace, they might hold out by playing a high tempo game at the start but will fall to pieces roughly 25 mins in when Costa strikes
Steve’s Prediction: 0-5
Can anyone beat Chelsea? Not Palace. Hoping my captain Costa can grab himself a few more goals in the process too
Lawro’s Prediction: 0-3
Everton vs Aston Villa 15:00
Villa will be looking to bounce back from their defeats to the big boys and an underperforming Everton will seem like an excellent opportunity for them, especially as Benteke is now back. Everton, however, will have ideas of their own and will grind out a close win this weekend.
Steve’s Prediction: 2-1
Everton have just not got going this season, whereas Villa have hit a monster of a fixture list since their promising start. I think this might be the week Everton start to turn it around
Lawro’s Prediction: 3-1
Newcastle vs Leicester 15:00
Newcastle are still without a win this season and really need something this weekend, there have been glimpses of Papiss Cisse so far and he looks to be sharper now, I’m backing the Toon Army (strong friends of RFF) to get themselves their first three points.. Either that or Pardew will offer our Nigel Pearson
Steve’s Prediction: 2-0
Yet another ‘last chance’ game for Pardew to save his job. Each previous time I have predicted a win for the Toon Army and it has finished up level so I’m going straight for that this week
Lawro’s Prediction: 2-2
Southampton vs Sunderland 15:00
Big, bad, John O’Shea is on fine scoring form after the ROI’s impressive draw away with the World Champions and will be looking to add to his tally. Southampton on the other hand are coming off the back of a defeat to Tottenham and while they will be hard to break down, they are vulnerable
Steve’s Prediction: 1-2
Saints are the surprise package of the season so far and I expect them to keep this up against a team that has not scored in their last two away trips
Lawro’s Prediction: 2-0
Sunday 19th Oct
QPR vs Liverpool 13:30
Harry’s QPR have had a lot of questions asked of them this season and no matter what nonsense Joey Barton comes up with, a lot still remain unanswered. I feel that they will struggle against a well-rested, Raheem Stirling and co
Steve’s Prediction: 0-3
Liverpool have been really disappointing this season but they managed to find a way to win last time out and with a ‘well rested’ Stirling I can see them cashing in against a poor QPR team. Don’t expect them to keep a clean sheet though
Lawro’s Prediction: 1-4
Stoke vs Swansea 16:00
Stoke are underperforming so far this season and no one enjoys going to the Potteries…. no one
Steve’s Prediction: 2-1
Not a traditional ‘Super Sunday’ tie but I have a feeling there may be a few goals in this one and could end up in an entertaining score draw
Lawro’s Prediction: 2-2
Monday 20th Oct
West Brom vs Man Utd 20:00
Van Gall famously said that he would need three months at United before people could judge his team, well Sonny Jim..that time is up! I think that they will come out in their all guns blazing style and bag 3 but their wobbly defence won’t be able to contain Berahino for the full 90
Steve’s Prediction: 1-3
Every time it looks like Man Utd are building some momentum they have a result that sets them back to square one (think Leicester). After holding on against Everton two weeks ago could this be the result they need?
Lawro’s Prediction: 1-3
Think you can do any better? We are looking for fans of RFF to take on Lawro in the forthcoming weeks. Email [email protected] and let us know if you're interested
